We didn’t think we needed a dedicated face towel until we tried one.

It started when we were looking for ways to upgrade our skincare routine, because we wanted to make sure we weren’t doing anything that was letting our efforts go to waste. That’s when we came across face towels, and it was something we were happy to explore, since we already suspected that using our body towel on our face wasn’t the best approach.

Letting our face air dry on its own before starting our routine took a bit of time as well, and it never quite felt properly dry, especially when we needed to apply retinol straight after, which needs completely dry skin to work. So we decided to order one and see what the fuss was about.

We’ve now gone through two boxes already, and because we don’t ever want to run out, we went ahead and ordered two more.

One of the things we thought about when deciding whether to buy it was the environment and where it would end up afterwards. We were pleased to see that they’re biodegradable, and vegan too, which felt like a nice bonus on top of everything else.

It also has a gentle exfoliating feel on the skin. Not harsh at all, just a light texture that works the skin a bit as you use it. Because of that, we usually pat dry with it rather than rubbing.

Overall, it feels great to use, soft but with just enough texture to make a difference. It has a textured side and a smooth side, so you can choose depending on what you need. Our skin looks much better since we started using it, and it’s not overly drying the way a body towel can be.

There’s also been a bit of a shine on our skin afterwards, though we’re not sure if that’s down to the towel or the retinol we’ve been using. We buy ours from AliExpress, where it costs around £6, though it can take longer to arrive. If you’d rather have it sooner, you can also find it on Amazon for about £9.

The one we usually buy, it takes a little longer to arrive, but it’s well worth the wait.

Same towel but a faster option if you’d rather not wait on shipping.

So if you’ve been putting your body towel to double duty on your face, this is worth trying. It’s a small change, but it’s one that’s earned a permanent spot in our routine.
